Solving Ecosystem Pain Points: A Strategic Session with NDC

Powering the Philippine Innovation Ecosystem with NDC 🎯

The National Development Company (NDC) recently facilitated an Innovation Stakeholder Workshop — Philippine Innovation Hub Strategy Session held at the Philippine Innovation Hub in Makati City last May 5, 2025.

As a knowledge partner, AHG Lab joined the session to contribute insights on the pressing challenges within the Philippine startup ecosystem; drawing from the realities faced by our community, our portfolio ventures, and our own experience as a venture studio. 

 The session brought together key figures including Jerahmeel Chen, Corporate Executive Officer of NDC; Jocel Dilag, co-founder of Bughaw Creative Collective and CEO of LegalDex AI (an AHG Lab portfolio venture); Dr. Karen Remo, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of New Perspective Media Group, along with her team; and Joshua Mabanag, who represented AHG Lab. 

The workshop aimed to identify the critical challenges faced by players in the startup ecosystem and align on policy, regulatory, and programmatic strategies to address them. It served as a collaborative space to define what actions are needed and to envision what is possible for the future of innovation in the Philippines.

AHG Lab is proud to be part of these critical conversations. Being heard by the Philippine government is a meaningful step toward building a more reliable and inclusive startup ecosystem — one where innovation thrives and economic growth is driven by collaboration and entrepreneurship.
